MANAGER Gary Whild says success in the FA Trophy is high on the agenda for Kidderminster Harriers.

The Aggborough outfit head to Conference North strugglers Bradford Park Avenue tomorrow in the first round proper (3pm).

Harriers were beaten by Avenue at the same stage last season but are intent on setting the record straight.

The cash-strapped club also know the financial benefits having reached the final at Wembley in 2007.

Whild, whose side fell at the first hurdle in the FA Cup, said: “The way the Trophy is now, some teams pushing for promotion will make changes, but I can tell you we’ll be taking it very seriously.

“With our squad the way it is we couldn’t make any changes but there’s no doubt we’d love to go far in this competition and there is no bigger motivating factor than playing at Wembley.

“Bradford are not doing that well, but we saw what a good side they can be, so we know we’ll have to be at our best to beat them.

“When you play teams from a lower level you know you are in for a tough game.”

As well as losing to Avenue in the Trophy at the Horsfall Stadium last season, Harriers also needed a replay to beat them in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round.

Kidderminster have not played since beating Nuneaton Town 3-1 on December 2 as last Saturday’s scheduled league opponents Aldershot were involved in the FA Cup.

Striker Reece Styche is available again following a one-match ban.

Harriers have also made a seven-day approach for Redditch United striker Jamie Spencer. The 21-year-old was on the books of both Birmingham City and Coventry as a youngster.

Bradford PA, who are 18th in Conference North, have won their last three games in all competitions.
