WITH the dawn of 2015, what do the next 12 months have in store for Worcester's leading teams.

Could there be promotion on the cards for Worcester Warriors and Worcester City?

How will Worcestershire fare in LV= County Championship Division One and will Worcester Wolves replicate their success of 2014?

It is a crucial year for Warriors, who will want to end it having made a good start to life in the Premiership.

But to do that, they will need to negotiate the small matter of the Championship play-offs. Which it what it all boils down to for the Sixways side.

Barring an unmitigated disaster, Dean Ryan's men will be in that end-of-season showdown and will likely face-off against Bristol for the sole promotion spot.

Their season and long-term future depends on that being a success. Promotion would give them the chance to take their ever-developing squad into the Premiership environment.

Staying down would set them back at least another 12 months and leave them with the same scenario all over again.

It is also a significant year for Worcester City, not least because their proposed move to Perdiswell should finally reach a conclusion.

On the pitch, their FA Cup run has led to talk of a promotion push but they will need to strengthen their squad to keep themselves in touch.

However, just discussing Carl Heeley's side and the play-offs in the same sentence shows how much progress has been made in exile at Aggborough.

Over at New Road, fans cannot wait to see how Steve Rhodes' side will fare against the cream of English cricket.

Last season was as exciting as it was surprising as the County's youngsters came of age under the stewardship of Daryl Mitchell following the departure of Alan Richardson and Moeen Ali's continued England duties.

Worcestershire have earned their place at the top table and for the likes of Jack Shantry, Richard Oliver and Ben Cox, the 2015 campaign can't come soon enough.

When it comes to basketball, Wolves have set the bar following last year's play-offs and BBL Trophy triumph.

They enter 2015 having made a solid start without hitting top gear. If they do that, who's to say more success won't come their way?
