BROMSGROVE Rovers are paying the price for not taking their chances, according to assistant boss John Snape.

Rovers, still second in Southern League Division One Midlands, have lost their last two games and on each occasion have been guilty of squadering efforts in front of goal.

The Victoria Ground side lost 3-2 at lowly Leighton last Saturday and 3-0 at ninth-placed Rothwell Town in mid-week.

Former Worcester City favourite Snape said: "The first-half performance at Rothwell was very good. We created numerous chances but failed to finish them off.

"We went in 1-0 down in a game that we totally dominated and we didn't recover from there.

"I think 3-0 flattered them but they took their chances and we didn't, again."

Rovers go in search of their first win since beating Dunstable on February 24 when they visit fifth-from-bottom Bedworth United on Saturday.

Victory would help them keep at least a nine-point cushion behind leaders Brackley but local rivals Stourbridge have three games in hand.

Snape said: "If we are not going to win the league, we want to finish second. There are 10 games left and we want to win all of them."

Defender James Smith remains a doubt for Rovers with an ankle problem, while captain Mark Taylor is expected to return to training in the near future following a hand injury.

Snape and manager Rod Brown are also hoping to have a couple of new faces in the squad to face Bedworth but are remaining tight-lipped as to their identities.
