WORCESTER City will have to make do without the services of Mark Danks for their key clash with Hyde United.

Play-off chasing City host the in-form second-placed side at St George's Lane tomorrow looking to force themselves towards the top five.

But Andy Preece's side will be without 16-goal striker Danks through suspension for five bookings this season.

Danks, an unused substitute in mid-week following his spell in hospital with concussion, is joined on the sidelines by Adam Burley who is still a week away from returning from his hamstring pull.

Shaun Findlay is back in the squad after being banned for the Hinckley trip and Preece expects Graham Ward (thigh) and Shabir Khan (ribs) to have shaken off knocks.

The manager said: "We haven't got a lot of bodies available with players out on loan.

"You can't do anything about injuries. Apart from Adam Webster and Mark Danks at the start of the season we have been quite fortunate, but they were major blows."

Whoever starts, City will be looking to continue their good home form since the turn of the year which has seen them go seven Nationwide North matches without defeat.

"The games are more and more important as they come along," Preece said. "Hyde are second and if we can beat them we will only be three points behind, so it's game on at the moment.

"Our home record since the turn of the year has been really good, we are unbeaten and we want to carry that on.

"We had a poor start to the season at home but we have picked up and the football has been good and so have the results.

"We have had good support at home. Crowds have been really good and this is another big game.

"I thought we showed great character to come back against Hinckley and hopefully we can build on that against Hyde. It will be tough but at least we are in a position where it still means something."

Hyde have propelled themselves up the table by winning their last four games, thanks to four goals from Gareth Seddon.

City, who faced the league's top-scorer in Terry Fearns last week, almost signed Seddon, second in the goal-scoring charts, last summer but the former Bury striker did not want the travel commitments.

"I know all about Gareth Seddon," Preece said. "He would have scored a hatful of goals for us if we had him.

"They have got threats all over the pitch but Gareth is a quality player and we will have to deal with him."
