ANDY Preece blamed individual errors after Worcester City drew 2-2 with Hyde United.

City came from behind twice at St George's Lane at the weekend and needed Craig Wilding's goal a minute from time to rescue a point.

Preece, whose team slip to ninth in the Nationwide North table, said: "I thought we played well.

"We worked hard and I was pleased with the effort of the players, just individual errors cost us the goals against a good team.

"Apart from a 15 or 20-minute spell in the second-half when I thought we just lost it in midfield and lost our shape, it was a performance for the lads to be proud of.

"But, ultimately, the individual errors we are making are costing us the results. Cut out the individual errors and we'll win the games, it's a simple as that."

City have now taken just two points from their last three games against teams above them in the league following a draw at Hinckley and defeat at Droylsden.

Preece said: "Our performances and the points we get from them just don't tally up and that's why we are where we are and I put it down to individual errors and lapses in concentration and keeping discipline in our play.

He added: "Their first goal was so easy. The ball was cleared and we didn't come out marking and we've done that in the last three games and we are not learning by our mistakes and it's costing us.

"No-one could have a complaint about the attitude of the players and how much they wanted it, but if you make individual errors you are going to get punished against good sides, and they're a good side."

Preece said Hyde's second, Gareth Seddon's penalty, stemmed from a midfield mistake by Shabir Khan but he was fuming his side were not given a free-kick for encroachment when Paul Gedman hit the bar with seconds left.

The manager said: "Whether it was handball or not, I don't know, but we didn 't seem to have too many complaints so the referee probably got that right. But we've come back again in the last minute. Then we still could have lost it."
