WESTFIELDS suffered a blank Bank Holiday with defeats to Alvechurch and Racing Club Warwick.

Against Alvechurch, the Hereford side failed to turn good approach work into goals.

Skipper Mark Hibbard and Tom Sparey headed wide, while Jamie Edwards fired just over.

But Alvechurch snatched the lead against the run of play on 43 minutes when the hosts' defence failed in their appeal for offside and Keith Rostill fired home.

Callum Gittings added a second on 69 minutes after Dan Moon gave the ball away.

Westfields came storming back and reduced the score within a minute through Mark Davis.

They threw away a two-goal lead to lose 4-3 at Racing Club Warwick. Matt Morris, Davis and sub Kevin Jinks scored.

Meanwhile, Pegasus Juniors eased themselves clear of the Hellenic League Premier Division relegation zone with a 1-0 victory at Harrow Hill.

They have now gone four games unbeaten but were aided by a brilliant penalty save from goalkeeper Bryan Kirkham.

Pegasus controlled the second-half but only grabbed the winner with five minutes left.

Sub Cory Hyde raced onto Ben Price's through-ball and lifted the ball over the stranded 'keeper.

Price crashed another opportunity against the post from Dave Griffiths' cross.

They drew 2-2 with Hungerford Town at the weekend, producing a strong display to hit back from two goals down.

Griffiths scored the first with the second an own goal.

Archdales '73 won 1-0 at Mile Oak Rovers in Midland Combination Division One. Rovers had been unbeaten at home but 'Dales dominated with Lee Seldon and Sam Green running them ragged.

Green scored the only goal on 15 minutes after being released by Ashley Banner.

Home 'keeper John Carpenter then pulled off great saves from Green, Seldon and Luke Whittington.

'Dales drew 2-2 with University of Birmingham on Monday.
