ON-LOAN defender Glenn Wilson sits out Kidderminster Harriers' trip to his parent club Rushden and Diamonds in the Nationwide Conference on Saturday as part of the conditions of his temporary move.

Wilson, who had fallen out-of-favour after a managerial change at Rushden, switched Nene Park for Aggborough just before last month's deadline for loan signings.

However, the versatile player, who has mostly been used at full-back by Harriers boss Mark Yates but also appeared in midfield, will be restricted to a watching brief.

Although Wilson will sit out, old Rushden favourite Jon Brady, on loan from Cambridge United, is in contention for a starting spot.

Harriers have struggled to find their scoring touch on a regular basis recently, despite top-scorer James Constable returning to action following a three-game ban for his red card against St Albans City.

Yates' side have only hit the back of the net four times in their last seven league games and goals may be at a premium again on Saturday if the two sides' recent meetings are anything to go by.

The reverse fixture at Aggborough in early September ended in a goalless draw as did the two league matches before that between the old adversaries.

After dropping into the bottom half of the table earlier in the week, Diamonds will also be looking for a win to try to ensure they finish above 12th place - their lowest finish in the Conference.

Saturday's match in Northamptonshire is quickly followed by a home date with Aldershot Town on Tuesday.

Harriers skipper Stuart Whitehead has blamed his side's inconsistent form at Aggborough for their failure to mount a serious play-off challenge.

However, the centre-half has promised fans they can expect much better next term.

He said: "One of the big factors this season has been our home form. It's just not been good enough. We've lost 10 at home and won nine away.

"And if you win nine away games, and then get your home form right, you're a championship-winning team. Our home form has really affected our season.

"That's been the problem with the league and if we can get that sorted for next season, coupled with our away form, who knows what we could do?

"If we keep the nucleus of the squad together and make additions of three, four or five players then I think we really could have something special."
