KIDDERMINSTER Harriers have lost experienced forward Danny Wright to National League rivals Cheltenham Town.

The relegated Gloucestershire club have secured the 30-year-old on a one-year contract despite Harriers being keen to re-sign the 6ft 2ins former Wrexham and Forest Green Rovers target-man.

Gloucester-based Wright scored four goals in 16 appearances for the Aggborough outfit last season after he arrived on a short-term deal from Gateshead in January.

Cheltenham will have a familiar look to their attack for Harriers' fans with Wright joining another Kidderminster old boy in Amari Morgan-Smith, 26, at Whaddon Road after his release from Oldham Athletic.

Harriers' physio Gavin Crowe also looks to be leaving Aggborough for Bristol Rovers to replace Phil Kite.

Crowe spent six seasons at Kidderminster and was a popular and well-respected figure at the club.

Harriers, who start pre-season training this week, have Luke Almond in place to deputise while a replacement is found.

Meanwhile, former Harriers winger Marvin Johnson has agreed a contract extension with Scottish Premiership side Motherwell until 2018.

Johnson, 24, joined from Kidderminster in January for an undisclosed five-figure fee and has since made 12 appearances, scoring once.

He had been linked with moves to the likes of Scottish rivals Rangers and Leeds United.
