RYAN Mills says the level of coaching at Warriors means players become better when they move to Sixways.

The 23-year-old joined Worcester’s Ryan Revolution in the summer of 2014 after cutting his teeth in the game with M5 rivals Gloucester.

After playing an instrumental role in helping Warriors win promotion back to the Aviva Premiership, Mills admits he has been taken back by the level of progression players are making at the club.

He said: “Dean has brought in a lot of new players since he arrived and it’s clear that those players have moved in the right direction.

“The environment and backroom support ensures we can all develop as players and as individuals.

“We’re going into the new season with a lot of confidence and we know we have the potential to improve as a team week after week.”

Mills and his teammates were given time off last week after an intensive first block of pre-season training.

According to the versatile back, the players are already starting to form a solid team spirit.

He continued: “Pre-season is always a tough time for players as we’re working hard to get ready for the sea - son.

“Emotionally it can be testing but there’s a great camaraderie in this squad and we’re all supporting each other. That togetherness will help drive us forward.”

Mills made 20 appearances for Warriors during his first season at Sixways and played the full 80 minutes of both legs of the Championship play-off semi-final and final.

He admits his first season at Warriors justified his decision to join the Club.

He added: “Before I came here, I spoke to Dean and I really bought in to his vision for the future.

“We had a successful season and we are now in a posi - tion where we can enter the next part of our journey and see just how far we can go.
