GARY Whild hopes to bolster the Kidderminster Harriers squad ahead of Saturday’s vital Vanarama National League clash against Lincoln City at Aggborough (3pm).

Numbers are thin on the ground as Harriers search for their first victory of the season at the 11th attempt after rescuing a point from a 2-2 draw with 10-man Torquay United on Tuesday thanks to forward Reece Styche’s injury-time penalty.

With winger Adam Dawson joining league rivals Tranmere Rovers until December due to personal reasons and loan left-back Andrew Fox returning to Peterborough United, a youthful group of players is close to breaking point.

Centre-half Jordan Tunnicliffe should be over a hamstring injury for the visit of the Imps, meaning Lathaniel Rowe-Turner may move over to the left side of defence, but midfielder Luke Maxwell completes a three-match ban for a red card.

While the Aggborough outfit’s budget restrictions mean money is tight, Whild, who is now head of football operations with ex-England keeper Tim Flowers as head coach, has vowed to keep searching diligently for new recruits.

He said: “We are looking to do a few things and bring a few bodies in because at the moment we are down to the bare bones. It’s got to be right for the club for the parameters we are working in.

“We’re looking at players, talking to clubs and we’ll do our best to get over the line before tomorrow.”

Harriers remain bottom of the table, despite back-to-back draws against Halifax and Torquay, but sit only two points behind fifth-from-bottom Boreham Wood.

Mid-table Lincoln have had a mixed start with three wins and three defeats alongside four draws but former Mansfield Town target man Matt Rhead will be a player to watch with eight goals from 10 games.

They lost 1-0 at Barrow on Tuesday but have held high-flying Cheltenham Town, Eastleigh, Grimsby Town and Wrexham to draws this season.

Harriers have won their last three home league meetings with Lincoln.
