WORCESTER’S Josie Farrow won medals for England at the Kimura Shukokai European Championships in Lucerne, Switzerland.

The 23-year-old was part of the Shukokai Karate England Federation squad made up of 22 students from all over the United Kingdom.

Farrow and her team-mates Katie Simpson and Maria Pereira took silver in the women’s team kata and silver in the women’s team fighting.

The Worcester competitor also secured bronze in the individual women’s kata as 27 competed from all over Europe.

England triumphed in the competition by coming top of the medal table with 10 gold medals, six silvers and nine bronzes.

Farrow trains at St John’s Sports Centre, off Malvern Road, on Wednesday nights.
