WORCESTER’S Nunnery Wood High pupils have been crowned Worcestershire schools’ badminton champions.
The four teenagers from Years 9 and 10 have gone from strength to strength following their Worcester City Schools’ Championships win.
They qualified for the level three Worcestershire round at the University of Worcester Arena.
The format consisted of five games, comprising singles and doubles, against North Bromsgrove, King Charles I, Kidderminster, and the resulting final against Pershore High.
The Nunnery Wood boys, Matthew Robinson (Year 10), Hugo Simmonds (Year 9), Tom Scotson (Year 9) and Luke Robinson (Year 10), were in emphatic form and won every game convincingly.
They did not concede more than seven points in any one game.
Nunnery Wood have now qualified to represent the county in the West Midlands Championships round in Birmingham on Tuesday, March 15.
