THE annual Peopleton Duathlon, organised by Worcester Triathlon Club, was won by Matthew Hallam.

The event was held in dry weather but a chilly blustery wind made the Peopleton to Upton Snodsbury section on the bike tough.

Over 140 entrants competed in the two races, which involved a four and two-mile run and 18-mile cycle or two two-mile runs and a nine-mile cycle.

More than 25 competitors entered the shorter race and there was also a relay with two or three in a team.

All the action was based from Peopleton Village Hall.

A donation of 10 per cent of total income from the race will go to St Richard’s Hospice.
