WORCESTER Rugby Club’s under 12s took the cup honours by beating Droitwich in the final of the North Midlands tournament hosted by Bromsgrove.
The city side saw off their rivals 2-0 on tries with Jack Hodgson and Isiah Martin breaking away to score at the Finstall Park ground.
Worcester had finished top of their group on tries scored from Bredon Star after drawing 3-3 with the villagers while beating Kings Norton 7-0 and Wolverhampton 2-0.
Second-placed Star went on to win the plate competition by defeating hosts Bromsgrove in the final.
Meanwhile, Worcester beat Stourbridge 4-1 in their semi-finals and then saw off Droitwich, who had accounted for Old Silhillians from Solihull in the last four.
Droitwich’s players received their runners-up medals and then sportingly formed a tunnel for the Worcester boys to walk through before receiving their winning trophy.
