CENTRE Ryan Mills will be returning to his home city tomorrow when Worcester Warriors face high-flying Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park (3pm).

Mills was born and raised in Exeter and Mark and Donna Bigwood, the parents of his girlfriend Rochelle, are season-ticket holders at Chiefs.

He admits Warriors will have to strike top form to extend their winning Aviva Premiership run to five matches.

Chiefs won 30-15 when the clubs met at Sixways at the end of January.

“It’s going to be good fun but it’s a difficult place to play,” said Mills, who cut his rugby teeth playing for Exeter’s junior teams before joining Gloucester’s academy.

“It will be an enjoyable experience to go back home and play against Exeter.”

Exeter have enjoyed a meteoric rise since gaining promotion to the top tier and are now second in the table and in the quarter-finals of the European Champions Cup.

“They (Exeter) have stuck to what they know,” said Mills.

“They have stuck with a group of players who have got them where they are and they have stuck with the young players who have come through and played really well for them.

“They have also struck with the game-plan they’ve got. They play a really good style of rugby and I think a lot of clubs struggle to deal with it.”

He added: “It will be a massive challenge for us. We know how hard it is to go down there and win. They have got a great home record and we are not taking it lightly at all. It will be a good test to see how far we’ve come since the last time we played them.”
