IN-FORM Monirul Islam beat Neil Darwell 3-0 to extend his lead at the top of Worcester Badminton League Division One.

Darwell remains in second place after also losing 3-0 to Steve Turberfield and Santi Rajaraman.

Rajaraman moved up to third position, helped by his emphatic 3-0 win against Chris Alexander.

It was an improvement on the 2-1 victories he managed over Alexander in the two previous seasons.

In Division Two, Kashif Ali thrashed Steve Wilson 3-0 to overtake him in second place in the table.

Maria Harrison holds fourth position after defeating Tim Westwood 3-0, an emphatic response to the 2-1 win by Westwood in the same fixture last season.

Ganesh Pillai is still top of the table by a large margin and looks uncatchable with just three weeks of the season remaining.

Beth Brown leads Division Three after beating Tom Read 3-0 and losing to Carl Fordham and Stu Taylor, who are second and third respectively.

Craig Burns remains top of Division Five having beaten Laura Leach 3-0 and lost 2-1 to Alex Howard. Howard is in second place and Ben Moughan third.

Ganesh Pillai has extended his lead at the top of the Superleague by beating Jeremy Swift 3-0 and losing 2-1 to both Santi Rajaraman and Chris Alexander.

Monirul Islam stays second. Rajaraman moved above Neil Darwell into third, helped also by a 2-1 defeat of Przemek Iwachow.

The season ends on May 12.

The league welcomes players of all standards and new members can begin playing matches immediately.
