HARRIERS will try to bow out of the Vanarama National League on a positive note when they finish an incredibly difficult season at mid-table Southport (5.30pm ko).

The Aghborough outfit’s relegation to the National North was sealed two weeks ago as the club slips to their lowest level of football in 33 years.

But chief executive Colin Gordon, who has also been caretaker boss since January, wants them to sign off in style.

There will be motivation for many of the squad who have yet to earn a deal for next season.

New manager John Eustace is expected to have returned from his trip to Qatar and will make the trip to Southport with a watching brief as he runs the rules over the players.

With the club hoping to seal a deal to bring in Worcester City joint boss Matt Gardiner as head of coaching, plans for the 2016-17 season are underway.

Kiddy will be without on-loan Aston Villa man Lewis Kinsella, who has been side-lined by a calf injury but Arthur Gnahoua may start after returning on the bench last week against Dover.

Harriers have ended a disastrous campaign solidly with just one defeat in eight games and a point would ensure they avoid the ignominious position of finishing bottom, having two more points on the board than Welling.

Meanwhile, Southport have appointed interim boss Andy Bishop as manager on a full-time basis.

The 33-year-old took charge of the Sandgrounders in March after former manager Dino Maamria left the club for "family and travel reasons".
