COLWALL are the only side to have won both their Worcestershire Cricket League Division One games as they swept aside Oldswinford thanks to Wehan Joubert’s 5-17.

They head the table by four points from Worcester Nomads, who posted a sizeable total again thanks to Innocent Kaia’s 106.

But they were frustrated by Bewdley’s Aussie Charlie Eastoe, who saved the day with nine wickets down through a well-crafted 71 not out following a century the previous week.

Pedmore and Hagley got the better end of draws with Burghill and Droitwich respectively but the other games at Belbroughton and Cookley did not get as far as tea.

On Saturday, the leaders Colwall and Nomads must travel to the bottom two sides Droitwich and Oldswinford, who seek their first victories of the season.

Division Two had a conceded match as Lye were unable to find a venue to host Redditch, so the latter club now have 48 points.

They are joint leaders with Worcester Dominies, who had Sajid Ali’s haul of 7-64 against Evesham to thank for a 26-run victory.

Evesham’s Fahim Maan took 6-39 and scored 87 yet still lost.

Wormelow’s overseas star Lachlan Hartley followed his 91 the previous week with 181 in their emphatic winning draw at home to Bredon and they are third, 12 behind the joint leaders.

Coombs Wood fashioned a winning draw at Enville but the matches between Bromyard and Alvechurch and Chaddesley at Feckenham hardly started.

This weekend, Redditch will entertain Enville, Dominies host high-scoring Lye and Wormelow are at home to their Herefordshire rivals Bromyard.

In Division Three, Bartestree head the table after their Aussie Ben Chaplin took 5-18 to see off Avoncroft by 11 points from Harborne, who drew with Malvern.

Next come Netherton, who drew with Barnards Green, and Old Vigornians are fourth following a winning draw with Kempsey when skippers, Osman Fiaz of OVs and Sam O’Neill for Kempsey, both scored 125 runs.

Rushwick beat Cleobury but the final match at Himbleton was a total wash-out.

In Division Four, there was not much play at all and Bromsgrove head a congested table despite not bowling a ball at home to Martley with whom they share the lead.

One point behind are Stourport after their losing draw with Alveley and then come Kidderminster and Five Ways OEs, who were off at Chester Road after 12 overs.

The matches between Himley and Oldswinford, Halesowen and Astwood Bank and Claverley and Hanley Castle failed to complete the first innings.

Division Five sides started their campaigns with a bang as Tenbury piled up 284-7 and then skittled Enville thirds for just 91.

Joint top are West Malvern, who defeated Old Hill, and Old Elizabethans were the other side to win as they overhauled Redditch’s 241, which included 95 from Naseek Hussein.

Hallow drew with Stourbridge and in the final match Barnt Green and Droitwich was called off with no play possible.
