DROITWICH Tennis Club men’s Aegon League B team shone in a 5-1 victory over Redditch B.

Eric Cartelet lost his singles match but there were wins for Neil Bates, Dave Lamb and Ricky Hollander.

Bates and Cartelet won their doubles clash as did Hollander and Lamb to seal a fine win.

The A team lost 4-2 at Manor Park as James Nam was the only player to win his singles.

Oliver Shier, Ian Bowman and Jon Sarriegui lost close clashes.

Bowman and Sarriegui lost their doubles in a third-set tie-break 13-11 but Nam and Shier won theirs for a consolation.

The A team showed their potential in Herefordshire and Worcestershire Summer Doubles League Division One with a losing draw against title-chasing Manor Park.

Ben Buckley and Nam lost twice but Mark Jones and Sarriegui battled back from a defeat to win their second match.

Lee Cowan and Matt Baker won twice but two extra sets for Park meant they claimed more points.

Droitwich men’s C team lost for the first time this season against Bewdley C 4-2 in Division Four.

The pairings of Ben Steel and Rich Clive and John Moran and Dave Wicks both won one and lost one but there were two defeats for Carlos Segura and Robin Jones.

They previously beat Worcester D 4-2. Lamb and Richard Skinner won both matches with a victory and defeat each for John Wright and Moran and Steel and Bates.

Droitwich ladies’ A had a losing Division One draw at Bromsgrove A despite two triumphs for Kate Hughes and Heidi Harris.

Sophie Sallows and Marelize Yorke secured one win but Penny Maidment and Lisa Pettener-Jones lost both matches.

The B team beat Manor Park C 5-1 to go top of Division Four.

Caroline Brookes and Suzy Levay starred with two successes, while Linda Price and Lydia Walker-Cox also won twice.

Sue Webber and Heather Fellows won one and lost one.

The F team had a losing draw against Bewdley E in Division Eight. Druscilla Lambert and Christine Reynolds, Helen Bibbey and Kate Bates and Christine Brighton and Lindsay Southall all won one and lost one.

Droitwich mixed A team lost for the first time this season against Worcester B in Division One.

Joe Maidment and Yorke and Mark Jones and Pettener-Jones both won one and lost one but the extra set for Worcester claimed victory.
