DROITWICH’S struggles continue in Worcestershire League Division One after they were skittled out for just 37 in a seven-wicket home defeat against Stourport.

Mid-table Stourport dismissed the hosts for a meagre total inside 20 overs after winning the toss at St Peter’s Playing Fields.

The visitors romped home for the loss of three wickets in 7.3 overs to leave Droitwich hovering just above the relegation zone.

Colwall have retained top spot after an emphatic 194-run win against Cookley.

Ben Wheeler (61), James Abel (52) and Nick Panniers (44) lifted Colwall to 242-9, with Jon Stanaway taking 3-70.

Wehan Joubert (3-8), Jono Gooch (3-17) and Jack Knight-Adams (2-12) then got down to work to bowl out Cookley for 48 in the 21st over.

Worcester Nomads returned to winning ways with a comprehensive seven-wicket home success against 11th-placed Belbroughton.

A fine spell from Richard Henry (4-19) with support from Joshua Hawes (3-36) and Patrick O’Driscoll (2-23) dismissed Belbroughton for 127.

Oli Swift then cracked 63 from just 40 balls in a knock containing six fours and two sixes.

Backed up by David White (31 not out) and Innocent Kaia (21), Nomads eased to the target in the 23rd over.

Nomads are now second, 12 points behind Colwall and 12 in front of third-placed Hagley, who lost at home to Burghill.

Burghill are now fourth, six points adrift of Hagley and with a 15-point cushion above Cookley.

In the other two matches in the top flight,Worcester defeated Oldswinford to lead the mid-table sides and Pedmore won at Bewdley.

The Division Two leaders, Redditch, were not in action after their game with Worcester Dominies was a victim of the overnight rain.

The chasing pack had a chance to close the gap by 15 points with Chaddesley, Feckenham, Coombs Wood and Evesham all taking advantage.

\Secons-placed Chaddesley completed a 139-run home win against Wormelow after Bilal Hassan made 100 not out and Asif Iqbal hit 82.

Feckenham’s Danny Bloomer made 110 in his side’s high-scoring 29-run home win against Bromyard, despite Josh Von Rensberg’s 5-43.

Evesham are fourth after winning at Enville, Coombs Wood are fifth after victory at Alvechurch and Lye defeated Bredon.
