KIDDERMINSTER Harriers have signed goalkeeper Sam Hornby from Championship side Burton Albion on a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old has won plenty of admirers, having signed for the Brewers' academy after spells at Redditch United and Halesowen Town.

Penning a first professional deal around a year ago, Hornby enjoyed a successful spell out on loan last season in National League North with Brackley Town.

A string of commanding displays and clean sheets helped Brackley secure their league status and won him the league's player-of-the-month award for April.

He was also hailed as the management and players' player of the season.

Harriers have also boosted their defensive options by securing experienced duo Keith Lowe and Jared Hodgkiss.

Lowe was offered a new deal at the end of last season after an impressive impact when he joined the club in January.

With close to 500 senior appearances to his name, the 30 year-old’s new contract keeps him with Harriers until the end of the season.

Hodgkiss penned his new deal, triggered by appearances made in 2015-16, to also keep him at Aggborough for the campaign ahead.
