SHAREHOLDERS of Worcester City are being urged to meet with board members tomorrow night to discuss the fans' trust's takeover proposals.

Chairman Anthony Hampson and his directors will be holding the “informal discussion” at the Worcester Whitehouse Hotel on Foregate Street at 7pm.

It has been organised ahead of next Thursday’s general meeting where shareholders will be able to vote on changing the club’s constitution.

Worcester City Supporters’ Trust want to make the Vanarama National League North outfit a community benefit society in a bid to create a “sustainable” future.

Tomorrow evening, City’s directors will be clarifying the trust’s proposals, the voting format and going over the changes that could be made to the constitution.

They will also discuss the “short-term survival” of the club and give shareholders the opportunity to pose questions.

A club spokesman said: “The evening will form an informal discussion, providing an opportunity to discuss the proposals which have been put to shareholders and to give an opportunity for any issues or questions to be clarified.”

Although the meeting has been restricted to shareholders, the club’s board have given the Worcester News permission to attend.

Reporter Geoff Berkeley will be providing live updates throughout the meeting.
