BOWLING coach Matt Mason says Kyle Abbott is "fit and raring to go" as he returns to action for Worcestershire Rapids in tomorrow's Royal London One-Day Cup clash with Lancashire Lightning at New Road (11am).

The South African paceman has recovered from the foot injury which has sidelined him for the past three weeks.

The 29-year-old is back as Worcestershire gear up for a period of six days cricket out of seven after the completion of today's tour match with Pakistan.

Mason, who is also assistant coach, said: "Kyle is back with us, he looks fine, he bowled in the middle yesterday (Friday) with no problems at all.

"He is fit and raring to go and looking forward to actually getting stuck into some cricket. He is really excited for tomorrow's game.

"I guess it is never nice for someone when they join a new club and the first thing that happens is you get a little niggle and miss some cricket.

"But he will be keen to repay us and put in a big stint for us in the two one-dayers and the County Championship game coming up as well."

Worcestershire need to win their final two cup matches to have a realistic chance of reaching the quarter-finals.

They visit Nottinghamshire on Monday for a day-night game and then on Wednesday begin a four-day Championship Division Two match against Kent at Canterbury.

Mason said: "We have got to win them both. It's been a bit like that with white-ball cricket this year. We've started well and faded a bit so it's two massive games.

"We know we can do it and it's like a final for us so it is great experience for our lads to go into a game with that sort of pressure.

"Hopefully, we can do the business tomorrow and then that means Monday will be a really exciting contest."
