WORCESTERSHIRE archer Naomi Folkard started her fourth Olympics in fine style by shooting 639 to finish 23rd in the ranking round.
The Great Britain individual recurve competitor now faces Indonesian Ika Rochmawati, ranked at 42, in the first round, which is scheduled to begin at 1.26pm on Tuesday.
Folkard, of Kidderminster, is also in the GB squad for the World Field Archery Championships in Dublin from September 26 until October 2.
She was given a big joint send-off celebration with fellow competitor Patrick Huston by family, friends and fellow squad members at Lilleshall before heading off to Rio.
Leamington Spa-born Folkard, 32, made her Games debut at Athens 2004 before competing at Beijing 2008 and London 2012.
She earned a quota spot for 2016 after finishing second at the World Cup in Antalya, Turkey.
