TWO cricketing brothers are both enjoying fantastic seasons for club and county.

Daniel and Myles Holland, the grandsons of ex-international umpire Ray Julian, are a competitive duo but their sibling rivalry has turned them into prolific players.

Dumbleton player Daniel is a cricket scholar at Malvern College, scoring nearly 1,500 runs and taking 48 wickets this season.

He is in the Worcestershire under 14s team but also plays for the under 15s, topping the batting averages with 65.

His great form also earned him selection for the Midlands under 15s team.

Younger brother Myles plays for Worcestershire under 12s as an all-rounder and is one of their top batsman, averaging 42 and scoring more than 1,000 runs this season for club and county.

The Dumbleton player has also taken 46 wickets but is hoping to overtake his brother in the next few games and hopes to join Daniel at Malvern College next September.

Proud grandfather Julian said: ‘It’s costing me a fortune! I watch a lot of their cricket and give them little bonuses and rewards for reaching certain milestones, like 50 runs or five wickets in a game.

“But, with both of them doing so well, I’ve had to put my hand in my pocket more than I was expecting. But I wouldn’t want it any other way — it’s fabulous to see them both doing so well.”
