JERMEL Kennedy has been named in British Basketball League’s team of the week after a dazzling debut for Worcester Wolves.
The explosive forward, 26, had a memorable opening night at the University of Worcester Arena as his new side came from behind to record an overtime 88-85 victory against Cheshire Phoenix on Friday.
And Kennedy, who joined Wolves in the summer, played a key role, landing 10 of 13 attempts from the free-throw line in an impressive 23-point haul. He was also just one shy of getting into double figures on rebounds.
His performance secured him a place in BBL’s coveted All Star Five, which also features Jack Isenbarger (Leeds Force), Brandon Clark (Leicester Riders), Leslee Smith (Bristol Flyers) and Scott Martin (Esh Group Eagles Newcastle).
Meanwhile, Andrew Bachman, who is Wolves’ most recent recruit, earned a place on the bench along with Anton Grady (Plymouth Raiders), Hameed Ali (Bristol Flyers), Anthony Elechi (Glasgow Rocks), Jamell Anderson (Cheshire Phoenix), Anton Grady (Plymouth Raiders) and Josh Wilcher (Cheshire Phoenix).
