WORCESTER pulled off a huge win in round one of the West Midlands Premier Division of the National Arena Swimming League when beating one of the top-seeded clubs.

In an exciting, tense finish at Rugby’s The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Centre, Worcester claimed their first victory of the 2016 campaign when beating City of Coventry A by just two points.

They were also drawn against several other top regional clubs at the gala and Worcester started steadily with several third and fourth-place finishes in the opening races.

Worcester had to wait until the sixth race before taking their first maximum points courtesy of a strong show from the boys’ 13/u 4x50-metre medley relay team.

They soon notched up two more wins in the relays through the boys’ 15/u 4x50m freestyle and men’s open 4x50m medley teams.
