WORCESTERSHIRE Martial Arts’ Lisa Perkins shook off an injury to win gold at the LTSI English Taekwondo Championships in London.
More than 350 fighters were involved as the club’s sole competitor Perkins took on the women’s colour belt category.
After training with the club for around two years, she used that experience to good effect to outclass her opponents technically.
Perkins, of Worcester, fought two rounds of sparring and won in the final.
Instructor Sally Gleaves said: “I’m proud of her achievement considering she has a bad knee injury.”
The club have a new home in Shrub Hill, Worcester, and more details are available at worcestershiremartialarts.co.uk.
