WORCESTER Lawn Tennis Club’s team have secured the title of national men’s seniors over 35s champions.
They took on clubs from all over the country in the knockout competition, including victories over Leicester Forest East and Caversham from Berkshire en route to the final.
The national finals were at David Lloyd Dudley where Worcester battled to a hard-fought 3-2 victory over defending champions Wimbledon Westside.
Worcester’s men have earned the right to travel to Spain next September to represent the United Kingdom in the European finals.
Team captain and club head coach Jon Bradshaw said: “This has been a fantastic team effort and a great achievement all round, particularly taking into consideration this is our debut year in the event.
“The men’s section at Worcester continues to grow and this victory is testament to that continued growth and participation across the board.”
