HEAD coach Paul James is relishing the prospect of coming up against a number of his former players when Worcester Wolves travel to London Lions tomorrow (4pm).

Alex Owumi, Zaire Taylor and Kai Williams were all part of the Wolves side who won the British Basketball League play-offs and BBL Trophy in 2014.

But they will be keen to get one over Worcester when they go toe-to-toe with their old club at the Copper Box.

One ex-Wolves player who will miss the chance to face James’ men is Jamal Williams after the forward sustained a season-ending injury last month.

The 30-year-old severed a nerve in his arm in a freak accident and James believed his absence had caused Lions to suffer from a “mini-slump” in form. James said: “Lions have got four players who were part of the championship-winning team so they know their way around the court and how to play.

“It’s going to be an extremely tough game but they are going through a mini-slump with Jamal being injured.

“They have lost a bit of strength in their roster and are at sixes and sevens at the minute so there is an opportunity there to win if we play tough defence and move the ball well.”
