PERSHORE Town lost 1-0 at home to Pelsall Villa in Midland Football League Division One.

Despite creating the best opportunities, Town could not finish off their chances.

Luke Church had only the keeper to beat early on but could not convert.

Reece Jacobs and Steve Roche had opportunities but the keeper saved well.

The second period was much the same with Roche forcing a good save after half-time and then heading over.

Pelsall’s goal was from an inswinging corner after 63 minutes when Luke Farley headed into the net from close range.

Jacobs dragged an effort wide of the far post late on and Steve Webb fired off target in the final minute.

A spirited performance from a much-changed Town team deserved more.

Meanwhile, Bromsgrove Sporting secured a 1-0 win over fellow title-chasers Leicester Road with Robbie Bunn scoring in front of 875 fans at the Victoria Ground.
