A GROUNDSHARE between Worcester City and Warriors “makes sense” and “needs to happen”, according to some fans.

But others have questioned how cash-strapped City, who have been in exile since 2013, would be able to afford to play at Sixways.

Supporters have been discussing the potential move after City chairman Anthony Hampson confirmed he had “held discussions” with the Aviva Premiership outfit.

And Warriors chief executive Jim O’Toole admitted he could “see the benefits” for allowing the Blue and Whites to use their artificial pitch.

Here are some of the fans’ comments:

At last. One assumes the pitch issues have already been sorted because if the pitch doesn't meet FA requirements it’s a non-starter.

The football club will be in an environment where training methods, player fitness and health etc will be better than what they are used to and perhaps they can learn from that.

Bristol Rugby share with the football club and there are 600 people who have both rugby and football season tickets. Will it stack up financially? Let’s hope so.

As long as this is short term, and as long as both parties are willing to work together then this could work.

And how will the 'cash-strapped club' pay for this? If WCFC can't afford to play at Kiddy or Bromsgrove, how could they afford to play at Sixways?

Add free parking and it will be the first time I watch Worcester football

It makes financial sense for both! Also if the option for the football club to use the Rugby training facilities it would benefit the squad and even potentially attract recruitment.

Bird's Eye View.

Does this make financial sense and if so who for? WCFC are strapped for cash, have put all their players on the transfer list and are about to be relegated barring a miracle; despite the commitment and determination of the players and coaching staff.

The current board have sanctioned overspending on playing budget for several seasons. How can this change if we move to Wychavon, not even in the City.

How are the board going to ensure that the club stay within their budget.

I would be interested to know how much this will cost the club. I will not be renewing my season ticket if this happens and I encourage other supporters to do the same. The Titanic is sailing ever closer to the iceberg.

A worry for me is that some members of the public (not knowing of the revenue options an own ground would give the club) would think that the fact we are back in the City, at Sixways, as meaning we no longer would need a ground of our own at Perdiswell.

We can't have any deflection from the goal - Perdiswell!

If Sixways gives us some breathing space, then so be it. If you think about it objectively it makes a lot of sense. We'd certainly get better gates than playing at Bromsgrove.

Silver warrior.

No problem with this as long as we play the majority of our games on a SATURDAY.

Faithful_City.

I think it makes smart sense never mind good sense.

No problem at all with Worcester City using Sixways, I would expect any agreement to prioritise Warriors calendar 100 per cent.

I'm sure I read when the pitch was announced that we had gone for the "thick- 65mm" option that wasn't approved for playing football - probably professional, not amateur.

West Brom Warrior.

The pitch maybe suitable but the ground is not as it requires complete separation of the fans, at Sixways you can walk all the way around while inside.

The only thing that makes sense to me. Win win.

Needs to happen.
