ROYAL Grammar School Worcester won the Superball trophy for a third successive year by beating city rivals King's School in front of more than 1,400 spectators.

The annual first-team netball fixture at the University of Worcester Arena ended 51-40 to RGS.

An entertaining first quarter saw both teams display skill, dynamism and commitment with the eventual victors taking the edge by one goal.

RGS upped the tempo, improved their precision and won the second quarter by three.

Hannah Middleton came on at goal attack and shot 100 per cent alongside fine contributions from her team-mates.

RGS led 27-23 at half-time but King's won the third quarter 11-10 to reduce the deficit.

But RGS demonstrated fast-flowing netball, uncompromising defending and pin-sharp shooting to extend their advantage to 11 points by the end.

Their captain Honor Jeavons lifted the University of Worcester Trophy.

She was joined in the successful squad by Holly Carson, Francesca Morgan, Amy Beasley, Emma Brinkley, Holly Chance, Grace Hewitt, Beth Hill, Molly Jones, Evie Beardsley and Alexandria Smith.
