THE University of Worcester Arena hosts the National Youth Sport Direct Inclusive Zone Basketball finals tomorrow involving nine qualifying teams.

Schools and colleges from across the United Kingdom will compete in the tournament, including returning champions and 2016 bronze medallists Lambeth and Beaconsfield respectively.

The sport brings together the running and wheelchair basketball games, enabling children of all abilities to experience the sport alongside their friends and peers.

Three new teams who have qualified for the first time are Anglesey's Ysgol Uwchradd Bodedern, Real Education from Mansfield and Newbridge College.

Swindon College, Ossett Academy and St Michael’s Catholic Academy, Billingham, will return to compete in Worcester.

Each team have qualified through regional heats.

British Wheelchair Basketball’s education officer Oliver Mitchell said: “It has been a fantastic season of inclusive zone basketball.

“It is an incredible sport to watch but our players and schools regularly tell me it is awesome to play.

“For any schools wanting to bring this inclusive sport into their schools I would recommend you head to Worcester to catch the finals.”
