ALEX Florence produced a “flawless” display against the experienced Kristian Laight to win his first professional fight.

The Ledbury boxer, nicknamed pinky, showed bags of skills over four rounds to win the bout at the Play Arena in Swindon.

“I went in there with a game plan,” Florence said.

“I boxed my four rounds to get the experience with no intention of stopping him.

“He is a well experienced boxer so getting four rounds in and getting hit four times in four rounds shows I’m very skilled, very fast and well matured.

“A big thank you to all my fans, close friends and family that came to support me on the night. I can’t wait for the next one as I have proved that I am ready for the professional game.”

Coach and father Fred Florence said: “I have trained Alex since he was six years old. He has gained experience as an amateur and picked up titles, so he is so ready for the pro game.

“He will go a very long way with his dedication, motivation and skill. Alex produced a flawless four rounds but it was nothing that shocked me as I know what is coming in the future. He will shock the world and show his full potential.

“I am very proud of his achievement as he has trained so hard and so long for it so get ready world pinky is here to stay.”

Florence thanked Bling 4 The Ring for sponsoring his son’s shorts, adding: “Alex is looking for sponsors. He is going all the way and he will not let you down.”
