WORCESTER'S Old Vigornians moved up to fifth place in Worcestershire Cricket League Division Two after a seven-wicket win at Lye.

Despite overcast conditions Lye chose to bat first and got off to a flier as Imran Riaz (33) and Raja Shakeel Nawaz (24) led them to 59-1.

But astute captaincy from Osman Fiaz turned the game in OVs' favour with spinners Dom Lee (4-53) and Alex Parker (4-46) bowling in tandem for 34 overs.

They picked up eight wickets and conceded just 99 runs.

Azmat Riaz picked up the final wicket in his only over as Lye fell for 168.

After big-hitting opener Dave Haddock was dismissed for one OVs made light work of reaching their victory target.

Fiaz (54) continued his rich form and was well supported by Ollie Hills' 38 in a second-wicket stand of 104.

After they fell teenager Will Burgoyne (18 not out) and veteran Steve Campbell-Ferguson (25no) guided OVs to a second league win of the season.

Wicketkeeper-batsman James Bader hit a century as he led the seconds to a 116-run victory over Stourport fourths at New Road to go second in Division Three.

The 41-year-old hit 17 boundaries in his 117, a third century for the club in his 20th season.

He was helped by 48no from 15-year-old Elliot Turner who smashed three sixes and three fours.

Bader shared valuable partnerships with Phil Mackie (18) and Ben Doyle (10) as OVs made 232-7 in 45 overs.

Stourport skipper Rich Foley claimed 1-18 from 12 overs.

Teenager Ed Burgoyne tore through the Stourport reply as the spinner took 5-10 in eight overs.

All-rounder Turner collected 3-18 including the prolific David Cook for 17 with a diving return catch.

His slower ball accounted for Foley who was the last man out with eight balls left and Stourport on 116.
