YOUNG footballers from Droitwich’s Witton Middle School capped a stunning season with victory at Wembley at the National League Trust under 11s final.
They represented Kidderminster Harriers following two successful tournaments and began with a competition of high standard at Wembley’s Ark Academy.
Witton remained unbeaten with three draws and the team then walked along Wembley Way into the national stadium.
The boys had full access to the dressing rooms while awaiting their dream opportunity to play on the Wembley pitch.
Witton won 3-1 with goals from George Duggan and Joe Hurdman (2) before making their way up to the Royal Box to collect their trophies.
The team then watched the National League play-off final which Forest Green Rovers won 3-1 against Tranmere Rovers.
They joined Forest Green players and fans in the promotion celebrations with Drissa Traoré and Charlie Cooper giving their boots to the children.
School PE co-ordinator Brad Tudgay said: “It was a thoroughly enjoyable day out and a wonderful experience for all involved.”
