WORCESTER City have snapped up Romanian defender Albert Alexandru from West Midlands League Premier Division side Smethwick Rangers.
The centre-back has previously played in Romania’s second tier – Liga II – with Dinamo II București and had spells with National Sebis and AS Nova Mama Mia in his homeland.
After arriving in England, the 27-year-old joined Smethwick where he made 23 appearances, scoring four goals last season as they finished in 16th position.
He also captained them to West Midlands League Premier Division Cup glory in the 2015/16 campaign.
Speaking after the cup triumph, Smethwick boss Amo Sandur said: “Albert Alexandru played for Dinamo Bucharest in Romania. I've had him for a couple of years while he's lived here.
"He works in McDonald's and he's a class act. I've got him on a personal training course this summer and am looking to get him a trial somewhere.”
