WORCESTER'S Nunnery Wood High School hosted the under 14s city athletics championships.

Nine local schools attended as Nunnery Wood enjoyed plenty of success.

The boys' 4x100m relay team won as did Rio Davies in the shot put, Cameron Richardson in the long jump and Anna Willis in the discus.

Alex Jones was second in the 300 metres with Ruby Jarman runner-up in the 800m.

Physical education teacher Mark Russell said “We are very proud of the entire team who competed. We are so fortunate to have outstanding athletics facilities.

"They practise and train on a weekly basis and the hard work is now paying off."

The athletes qualify for the County Minor Championships on Tuesday, June 27, where they will represent the City of Worcester.
