MANAGER Paul Collicutt insists Evesham United will be treating Kidderminster Harriers “seriously” as they aim to win the Worcestershire FA Senior Cup at the Jubilee Stadium tomorrow night (7.45pm).

Evesham last won the competition in the 2008-09 campaign and Collicutt says his players are determined to get their hands on the trophy.

Kidderminster play two levels higher than United in Vanarama National League North and are looking to retain the title.

But Collicutt says he will field his strongest side possible as the Robins, who knocked out Worcester City on penalties in the semi-finals, bid to make home advantage count.

Full-time outfit Harriers, meanwhile, have a friendly with Birmingham City tomorrow so are likely to field more trialists and under 23s players as they did in the 3-2 semi-final win at Redditch United.

“The big thing about this time of year is trying to give players as much playing time as possible,” he said.

“The season starts for us in two weeks but tomorrow night's game is serious.

"It is under FA rules so we can name seven players on the bench but only use three substitutes.

“I don’t think the club have won it for a few years so if we could take the title it would be a bonus.

“We will wait and see how strong a team Kidderminster send down to us but we will be treating it seriously.”

So far this summer Evesham have recruited Matt Bennett, Mat Liddiard, Jordan Lymn, Nick Rhodes and Greg Peel ahead of the Southern League Division One South and West campaign.

They are also expected to recruit former Shortwood United midfielder Nick Hancock, forward Sean Brain — the nephew of former Robins ace Simon — and ex-javelin thrower-turned-striker James Campbell who are all on trial.

“We have signed a few players and have got one or two we are going to be making a decision on within the next few days,” Collicutt added.

“Hopefully this time next week I should be able to name the squad of players I am going into the season with.”
