EIGHTY runners from 13 teams took part in the Wychavon Parish Games' cross-country at Pershore High School.

After an exciting run Sedgeberrow emerged as winners with 92 points, well ahead of Ashton-under-Hill who were second with 137.

North and Middle Littleton were third on 177 with last year's runners-up Eckington fourth, Inkberrow fifth and 2016 winners Fladbury sixth.

Other parishes taking part were Wyre Piddle, Broadway, Badsey, Honeybourne, Harvington, Hill and Moor, Bretforton and Wick. 

Romualdas Stupells from North and Middle Littleton was the overall individual winner. 

Fifteen parishes turned up to play petanque in Evesham. 

There were some really close matches, especially in the semi-finals.

Eventually Evesham North went through to play Bredon in the final.

In an exciting match Evesham North eventually won 2-1 on legs.

Hill and Moor and Norton and Lenchwick were the beaten semi-finalists.

Wyre Piddle, Broadway, Badsey, Sedgeberrow, Wick, Fladbury, Bretforton, Eckington, Honeybourne, Inkberrow and Harvington also competed.

The next event is the bowls at Bredon on Sunday, August 27.
