WORCESTER City showed pre-season promise with a convincing 4-0 friendly win over a Sutton Coldfield Town team from two levels higher.

City were two goals up at half-time against their Northern Premier League Premier Division visitors at Bromsgrove's Victoria Ground.

Forward Dave Reynolds swooped for a poacher's goal on 14 minutes from Matt Birley's ball into the box.

After keeper Matt Gwynne pulled off a fine save recent signing Mark Danks doubled the lead with a clinical finish in off the post.

With Midland League Premier Division side City well in control in front of a crowd of 151 they built on their advantage in the second period.

Jamie Smith buried a fine 25-yard effort into the top corner in the 65th minute before Josh Harris-James added a fourth with another well-taken effort from the edge of the box 15 minutes from time.

City's final friendly of pre-season is at Halesowen Town on Saturday (3pm).
