HIMBLETON moved to within eight points of Worcestershire Cricket League Division Three leaders Kempsey with a seven-wicket victory over Rushwick.

Winning the toss and electing to field first Himbleton blew away a strong top order to 30-5 within eight overs through Sam Jenkins (3-25) and Rob Perrins (2-21).

Only Stuart Parker (43 not out) resisted but the tail-enders had no answers to Himbleton’s varied attack in being bowled out for 110.

Matt Handford (1-15) and Jon Critchlow (2-16) took wickets as 25 extras proved to be the second highest scorer.

In reply Ricky Pretty fell for only four as he edged the ball of the day to first slip before Ali Pretty was caught on the mid-wicket boundary for 14.

Critchlow (46) played a calming innings but when he fell with the score on 67 Sean Jenkins and Stu Dickenson cruised towards the winning 114-3 with 21 not out each.
