MALVERN Town started their West Midlands League Premier Division campaign in style as they recorded a thrilling 4-3 victory at Bilston Town Community.
In a rollercoaster of a game which saw both teams take the lead, it was the visitors who came out on top, courtesy of braces from Matthew Turner and Kyonn Evans.
On the 15th-minute mark, things turned ugly for Malvern as they went a goal down before losing goalkeeper Charlie Weaver after a hefty challenge.
His replacement, Josh King, played excellently, producing a fine stop low to his right.
Trailing 1-0 at half-time, Town conceded a second shortly after the break, which shook them into life.
With 25 minutes left, Turner cut back the deficit before equalising from the penalty spot after being brought down in the area.
Malvern turned the game on its head with 10 minutes remaining as Evans netted to make it 3-2.
Bilston drew level on 85 minutes, but Evans scored his second three minutes later with a left-footed volley from outside of the box.
The hosts could not reply this time as Malvern got their league campaign off to a winning start.
Town visit Wellington Amateurs on Saturday (3pm).
