PAUL Guest was the quickest from Worcester St John's at the Coventry Cycling Club 10-mile contest near Rugby.

St John's members were among 150 riders battling a changing wind.

Guest clocked 21 minutes 29 seconds for 22nd place to beat his previous effort on the fast course.

Dave Walker did his fastest 10 miles this year of 22.37 with Robert Harrison recording 23.38 and Adrian Murray managing a personal best of 24.38.

Jason Tait rode 25.00 and Graziano Abbatiello 26.06 with a fixed wheel.

The event winner was Mat Langworthy from Mid Devon CC in just 18.55.

St John’s riders competed in the Welsh 10-mile Time Trial Championships on the Raglan course.

Ollie Morgan posted a time of 21.49 which secured him third place in the junior championship.

Nathan Preece clocked 21.49, Ed Dursley 22.34 and Simon Garrett 20.23.

The overall winner was Keiron Davies of Drag 2 Zero in 19.09.
