LIAQAT Hussain’s 131 was not enough to earn Worcester victory as leaders Redditch beat them by eight wickets in Worcestershire League Second XI Division One.

An undefeated 119 from Faizan Ahmed helped Redditch chase down 285-6 with support from Geoff Eley (68).

Feckenham remained five points behind the leaders after a 58-run win at Bewdley with Ryan Humphries taking 5-30.

Stourport climbed to third after Mark Guest (4-31) helped dismiss lowly Pedmore for 108.

Lowly Evesham grabbed an important win at Colwall as third-from-bottom Eastnor lost by four wickets to Hagley despite 4-52 from Josh Emery.

Division Two leaders Droitwich slipped to an unexpected defeat at relegation-threatened Burghill, Tillington and Weobley with Greg Penning scoring 112 not out.

Second-placed Cookley could only muster a losing draw at Bromyard who were fired by Tom Bussey’s 148no.

Sixteen-year-old Ben Bromage posted 98 to help runaway Division Three leaders Rushwick to a winning draw against Stourport with Steve Tunley taking 4-49.

Alvechurch and Hopwood climbed into third as Curtis Beach (84no) helped them chase down Kempsey’s total.

Bredon fell off the promotion pace as Bartestree and Lugwardine’s Nick Freeman (72) and Matt Strangward (62) helped them to 290-4.

There was little change at the top of Division Three as leaders Himbleton beat Old Elizabethans by 65 runs and second-placed Himley dismissed Worcester for 53.

Kidderminster consolidated third as they dismissed West Malvern for 109 thanks to Rhodri Morson’s 4-27.

Tenbury are fourth after Alfie Watts (4-10) starred with the ball to dismiss Malvern for 65.

Rory Taylor took 5-18 to help Alveley beat Hallow.

Martley suffered one of their heaviest defeats of the season by 99 runs to Hanley Castle and Upton.

Ed Wilcox hit 85 and Oli Storr 27 as Hanley recovered from a poor start to total 184-9.

Skipper Tej Uppal claimed 5-36 but then Martley struggled to 85 all out as Ian Hobbs (6-25) ripped through the lower order.

Adnan Wahid took 7-8 to help dismiss Barnt Green for 51 and ensure Romsley and Hunnington remained second in Division Five.

Leaders Pershore finished their season with a defeat to Droitwich. Division Six champions Cutnall Green signed off with victory as Mark Walker (95no) and Neil Fletcher (85no) helped them beat Barnards Green by seven wickets.

Ombersley’s fine late-season form continued as all-rounder Henry Wilde (57 and 4-16) guided them to victory over Birlingham.
