FORMER Cheltenham Town striker Ethan Moore could be in Evesham United’s side to face Wimborne Town at the Jubilee Stadium on Sunday (3pm).

The 24-year-old, who was on the books of Aston Villa as a junior, has been loaned by Gloucester City in a bid to help him back to match fitness after a season out with an ACL injury.

Evesham boss Paul Collicutt says there could be another new addition ahead of the weekend.

“We lost Mark Magee to North Leigh a couple of weeks ago so I was on the look-out for a replacement,” he said.

“We still have Adam Mann and Greg Peel who have been scoring goals but this is a tough, long season and you need numbers.

“We had been looking around and then two come along at the same time — it’s just like buses!

“Ethan has a good pedigree but has missed the last 12 months through his cruciate injury.

“He has worked hard to get fit but now needs some football.

“His goalscoring tally is excellent and he’s with us for a month in a deal that will hopefully benefit both Ethan and Evesham.

“I’m in the process of bringing another striker in and he should also be available for the weekend.”

Mann and Peel were among the goals on Saturday as the Robins won 3-1 at Bideford in Southern League Division One West.

Mann netted a goal in each half with his strike partner scoring after the break as each took their tally to three in two games.

With two more forwards vying for a place in the side Collicutt is hoping there will be a decent crowd for Sunday.

Tenants Gloucester City have a home FA Cup tie with Hungerford Town on Saturday which takes priority.

“I’m really looking forward to playing on a Sunday,” Collicutt admitted.

“It will be a great chance for the people of Evesham and the surrounding area to come down and cheer us on.

“The lads deserve to be supported at the moment as they are playing some good football.”
