PLAYERS flocked to Worcester Golf and Country Club for a mixed open stableford alliance for the Anne Foord Trophy.
There were 132 in teams of four from as far away as Cardiff, Cheshire, Warwickshire, the Cotswolds and Herefordshire as well as closer to home.
First with 81 points on countback were a team from Minchinhampton near Stroud.
Also on 81 for second place and the trophy winners were Robin Davis, Alan Williams, Bobbie Johnston and Jean Armstrong from the hosts.
A Kidderminster group were third while fourth went to a local mixed team comprising Jane Nicklin, Sue and Roger Hughes and Ed Nicklin.
The ladies’ longest drive was by a player from Eaton, Cheshire, and the men’s honour went to a Cotswold Edge golfer.
Nearest the pin was by the home club’s Conrad Nand-Lal.
