GEORGE Forsyth is understood to be closing in on a permanent transfer to Worcester City following the termination of his contract at Gloucester City.

The flexible 20-year-old, who spent a month on loan at Worcester, today left the National South outfit by mutual consent.

Forsyth largely impressed during his spell but was unable to feature in the FA Vase due to being under contract with his parent club.

The ex-Kidderminster Harriers academy captain would now be eligible for the knockout competition with Worcester set to face minnows Sherwood Colliery in a first-round tie on Saturday (3pm).

Normally a midfielder, Forsyth made six appearances for City including stints at centre-half and right-back.
