WHITEHALL AC held their annual prize-giving night where Matt Barnes was declared individual knockout champion.

Dave Grubb, Michael Bryant and Carl Graham won the team knockout with Graham also winning the points championship title.

Meanwhile, talented Worcester star Tim Biddle comfortably won the second round of the Evesham Winter League with an excellent all-roach net from the Common Road section of the River Avon.

Finding the river low and clear, Biddle had no hesitation in using the favoured winter tactics of bread punch offered at 13 metres on peg 14 to take 85 small roach for a winning weight of 14lb 4oz 0dr.

Some way back in second on peg eight was local angler Pete Morris who weighed in 8-4.

Third place went to Chris Turner with 7-12 while in fourth came Jim Brockie weighing in a peg 12 weight of 6-12.

A clear canal at Porters Mill greeted members of Droitwich Spa AC for their fur and feather contest where Birmingham’s Dave Anderson took pole position with 3-12-5 of small silver fish.

In-form Tony Hamilton came second with 3-7-5, third spot was taken by treasurer Dave Lowe with 1-12-13 and club star Chris Ballard had to settle for fourth prize with 1-12-2.

Section prizes went to Reg Ford, John Walker, Mick Sparkes and Ken Smith.

The next Spa club match is also on Porters Mill on December 17.
